Treatment for breathing and myofunctional disorders in children (Ages 3–15)

The Myosa® for Kids KS1 is designed to help treat breathing and myofunctional disorders in children aged 3–15. Developed by MRC after more than 30 years of clinical experience, the Myosa® for Kids range provides a simple, effective way to improve breathing patterns and oral habits without orthodontic treatment.

Many children develop poor oral habits such as mouth breathing, incorrect tongue posture, and improper swallowing. Left untreated, these habits can affect healthy facial growth, sleep quality, and overall oral development.

The KS1 appliance allows dental practitioners to address breathing and myofunctional disorders safely and effectively. It can be used by practitioners who do not provide orthodontic treatment, making early intervention more accessible for young patients.

Establish a Functional Airway and Healthy Oral Habits

The KS1 is designed for children in the mixed dentition stage who breathe through their mouth, particularly during sleep. Its primary goal is to establish a functional airway while encouraging healthy myofunctional habits.

The appliance should be worn until the child can comfortably keep it in overnight and breathing function has improved. At that stage, treatment can progress to the KS2 appliance if required.
