The Trainer System™ is the original myofunctional orthodontic appliance range developed by MRC in the early 1990s. This vintage system is still a leader in its field and trusted by countless practitioners from around the world. The appliance designs and their ease of use make this acclaimed appliance range widely popular today for the treatment of orthodontic, breathing and myofunctional disorders. Although the system is still available for purchase, it has evolved into The Myobrace® System, which builds on the foundations laid by The Trainer System™ by incorporating added arch development features.

Trainer for Braces (Ages 8-12 years)

Braces are still the most effective way of straightening teeth, however, they do not address many of the problems causing the crooked teeth. Most orthodontic problems, particularly crowded teeth and an underdeveloped lower jaw, are caused by habits such as mouth breathing and tongue thrusting.

If these habits are not corrected, treatment time in retainers will be increased and, once they are removed, the teeth can crowd up again. Relapse can occur even with the best retainers. Correcting these poor oral habits with the Trainer for Braces series appliances by MRC allows braces to work more efficiently by reducing the pressure of the tongue, cheeks and lips against the braces, while simultaneously correcting the poor myofunctional habits that are the cause of malocclusion.

Improves comfort and stability during braces treatment

The T4B protects the soft tissue inside the mouth (lips and cheeks) from irritation by brackets and wires—a major cause of discomfort in the initial stages of orthodontics. In addition, the T4B assists in the correction of myofunctional habits that cause the teeth and jaws to develop incorrectly. These include myofunctional habits such as tongue thrusting, incorrect swallowing, and mouth breathing. This improves the effectiveness and stability of orthodontic treatment.

Design Features

The design features of the T4B are ideally suited for improving comfort and stability of treatment with braces or aligners in the mixed to permanent dentition, while also helping to correct breathing and soft tissue dysfunctions.

• Braces channels accommodate upper and lower brackets and orthodontic archwire while protecting cheeks and gums
• Tongue tag trains the tongue to sit correctly up in the roof of the mouth, improving myfunctional habits
• Tongue guard stops tongue thrusting when in place and encourages nose breathing
• Aerofoil base assists jaw development and position, opening the bite and decompressing the TMJ
